Adoption at Avalon
Upon arrival at Avalon, all bunnies receive veterinary evaluation and care, including flea and mite treatment as needed. Bunnies are vaccinated for RHDV2 and most are spayed/neutered before being adopted. For those that are not fixed prior to adoption (this can happen when a baby is adopted before being old enough for surgery), we work with adoptive families to make that happen ASAP, using our vet or theirs. Until the bunnies are fixed, we consider them as a “foster to adopt” status. Spaying and neutering bunnies is incredibly important for their overall health and general wellbeing.
